Data Security and Privacy Plan

Moore Solutions Inc.

Moore Solutions Inc. (“MSi”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of data within our online learning platform used by the K12 sector. This Data Security and Privacy Plan outlines the measures we take to safeguard information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Data Collection and Use

Student and Teacher Data

MSi’s online learning platform is designed to minimize data collection. We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from students or teachers. Our platform focuses on delivering educational content and does not require the storage of sensitive data like names, addresses, or student performance records.

Platform Usage Data

We may collect aggregated and anonymized data on platform usage, such as:

  • Number of users accessing the platform
  • Course access patterns
  • Feature usage statistics

This data is used to improve platform functionality, optimize content delivery, and enhance the overall user experience. It is collected and analyzed in a way that does not identify individual users or reveal personal information.

Data Security Measures

Access Control

  • Secure Authentication: Access to the MSi platform is restricted through secure authentication methods, including strong passwords and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for administrators.
  • Role-Based Access: User roles and permissions are implemented to limit access to data and functionality based on individual needs and responsibilities.

Data Storage and Protection

  • Encryption: All data transmitted to and from the MSi platform is encrypted using industry-standard encryption protocols (e.g., HTTPS).
  • Secure Servers: Our platform is hosted on secure servers with robust physical and network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security assessments.
  • Data Backups: Regular backups of platform data are performed and stored securely to ensure data recovery in case of unforeseen events.

Software Security

  • Regular Updates: Platform software and underlying systems are regularly updated with the latest security patches to address vulnerabilities and protect against threats.
  • Vulnerability Scanning: Periodic vulnerability scans and penetration testing are conducted to identify and address potential security weaknesses.

Employee Training

  • Security Awareness: MSi employees are trained on data security best practices and their responsibilities in protecting sensitive information.

Data Privacy

FERPA Compliance

MSi’s data handling practices are designed to comply with FERPA regulations. We do not collect or maintain any student educational records that would be subject to FERPA.

Data Sharing

MSi does not share any user data with third parties, except as required by law or legal process.

Data Breach Response Plan

In the unlikely event of a data breach, MSi has a comprehensive incident response plan in place to:

  • Contain the breach: Isolate affected systems and prevent further unauthorized access.
  • Investigate the incident: Determine the cause and scope of the breach.
  • Notify affected parties: Inform relevant stakeholders, including users and authorities, as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Remediate the vulnerability: Implement measures to address the root cause of the breach and prevent future incidents.

Plan Review and Updates

This Data Security and Privacy Plan is reviewed and updated periodically to ensure it remains aligned with industry best practices, evolving threats, and regulatory requirements.
